Wide range z-axis surfacemount Vibration sensor

muRata’s introduces a 6Hz to 11kHz Sensor for condition monitoring

Most of today’s vibration sensing application do use two sensors one for lower frequency up to 500Hz and higher range from 2kHz to 10kHz. The new piezo technology based sensor allows to cover a full range from below 10Hz up to 11kHz for Fast-Fourier-Analysis. The very small size of the new PKGM enables customer to place the sensor directly to the electronics avoiding a bulky mounted “outside” unit.

The z-axis acceleration sensor comes in a 5 x 5 x 3.5mm surfacemount package. The analog output sensor offers a sensitivity of 118mV/G with a stationary noise of 4.3mG. In addition to the differential amplifier circuit the sensor has a differential low pass filter for frequency analysis to identify the condition of the unit being supervised or to reduce unnecessary maintenance costs. The operating rang is from-20°C to +85°C and a temperature sensor inside the sensor provides a output voltage from +4.75Vdc to +0.75Vdc across the operating temperature.
