Compared with traditional light bulbs, LED technology is characterised among other things by high efficiency, minimal power consumption, extremely low heat radiation, and a very long lifetime. For environmental reasons, European countries have also declared war on conventional light bulbs due to their low efficiency.
LEDs can be used in a wide range of applications, such as in signalling technology, lighting systems, displays, and advertising panels. These very different applications pose specific demands on power supply units, such as constant current or voltage, dimmer function, or robust design, and adequate protection from dust and humidity.

Most of the 100 model series in the power range of 18-240 W comply with standards UL1310 Class 2, EN61347-2-13, EN61000-3-2 Class C (harmonic current) and meet the requirements of protection class IP64-67.
